Rennes-le-Château – The myth of the Reversed ‘N’

There is a prevalent myth relating to the ‘reversed N’ dealing with Rennes-le-Château matters amongst romantics.

For example, the epitaph to the gravestone of Elisabeth Raynaund has the letter ‘n’ inscribed in reverse thus:

There is even a website devoted to where the reversed letter ‘n’ exists in relation to Rennes-le-Château matters:

About a century ago it was quite normal to write the letter ‘n’ either way and examples abound – ranging from cartography to British Postcards.

There is absolutely nothing ‘special’ about it and it is certainly not ‘unique’ to Rennes-le-Château.

Another made-up ‘mystery’.
